<p><b>Objectives of Performance Appraisal:</b></p>
<p>· Assessment of past performance and the improvement of future performance</p>
<p>· Assessment of future potential/promotability</p>
<p>· Assessment of training and development needs</p>
<p>· To assist reward review</p>
<p><b>Performance Appraisal Timeline:</b></p>
<p>· Formal annual review – End of April</p>
<p>· Quarterly Reviews end of: August, November, February</p>
<p><b>Formal Review Process:</b></p>
<p><b></b></p>
<p>· Self Appraisal – issued to staff 2 weeks before appraisal (Self assessment form completed by staff and returned to line manager before appraisal).<b></b></p>
<p>· Appraisal – after formal appraisal the line manager completes assessment form. Employee can add comments. The form is signed by, manager, employee and countersigning manager.<b></b></p>
<p>· Personal development plan discussed and agreed during appraisal<b></b></p>
<p>· Quarterly Reviews – one page form to be completed by line manager after review meeting and signed by line manager and employee.<b></b></p>
<p><b>Documentation:</b></p>
<p><b></b></p>
<p>· All documentation should be returned to Office Manager for filing on personnel files. Employees can take a copy of appraisal for their personal records.<b></b></p>
