DFID, World Health Organisation and Government of St Helena.
NI-CO has sourced and resourced Healthcare provision in the remote South Atlantic islands of St Helena and Tristan da Cuhna. Our long standing commitment to the islands has developed over 15 years, with a recent extension to our contract underpinning the level of excellence we have provided.
- Healthlink 1,2 & 3: Ensuring that all St. Helenians and Tristanians have access to and use appropriate, high-quality public health, medical and social services. The support provided to both Islands through this project addressed the International Development Targets for Health, but went wider than these to focus on the key health and social issues in these islands – healthy lifestyle, health protection, management of chronic diseases and quality of later life.
- Provision of Physiotherapist : Deployment of qualified UK Physiotherapist to the island of St Helena as well as training of in-country staff and clinical care of complex cases.
- Nurse Education Link – This project provided an up-to-date source of nursing and midwifery education advice to the Public Health Department of St Helena, leading to better health care for the population as a result of enhanced nursing care.
