Institutional Twinning Case Study Latvia

NI-CO, in partnership with LACORS (Local  Authorities Co-ordinators of Regulatory Services), secured a €460,000  contract to work with the Ministry of Economy in Latvia to deliver a  16-month EU Twinning project in market surveillance in the non – food  area.

The main objectives of the project were  to provide assistance in establishing a co-ordinated market  surveillance system and to strengthen the capacity of related  institutions.

 

  NI-CO delivered a number of key services including:

  • An exchange of experience and expertise;
  •  

  • Collaborative project work on implementation strategies, development of specific plans, and operational guidelines;
  •  

  • The provision of training courses and expert workshops; and
  •  

  • The provision of detailed specific consultation facilities through UK centres of excellence;
  •  

  • Building on the results of the previous linked national and international activities.
