Policing Case Study Albania

This EU funded grant mission to Albania has been designed as a programme of works to develop the standards and performance of the Albanian State Police, in order to bring it into line with current EU standards.

NI-CO consultants and staff are providing assistance in the following areas:

a) improved functioning of the Albanian State Police (ASP), enabling it to plan and manage its human, financial and technical resources.

b) efficient functioning of the Police Development Centre (Police Academy) with an established curriculum which delivers training to all ranks of the ASP, training needs and Regional Training Capacity

c) assist the Border and Migration Police of the ASP to implement the Integrated Border Management Strategy/Action Plan including requirements in the State Police Law

(d) improve the capacity of the ASP to deliver community policing

e) providing practical advice and support to increase skill levels of officers as well as improved functioning of structures fighting organised crime and terrorism within the ASP, facilitating knowledge transfer to the local police commissariats.
