Strengthening of the market surveillance system in Latvia

Provide adequate market surveillance and enforcement of consumer protection legislation and strengthen enforcing capacities in the field of market surveillance and consumer protection according to current and identifiable additional EU acquis.

• Detailed assessment of the current situation in testing possibilities in Latvia and an elaboration of the list of available testing facilities plus recommendations for future planning of testing activities;
• Development of the guidelines for the data collection system on injuries related with products and services;
• Training of CRPC (seminars and workshops) on safety aspects of following products and elaboration of guidelines and enforcement procedures for the entrepreneurs – Personal protective equipment, Pressure vessels and pressure equipment; Machinery, Child articles not covered by Toys directive, Radio and telecommunication equipment, Gas appliances, Recreational crafts;
• Consultation on quality system implementation – further development of the system in all activities of the CRPC;
