Last week NI-CO had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation representing both the Ministry of Energy and Water and the Centre for Energy Conservation in Lebanon to Belfast.

The group were visiting Northern Ireland to examine EU best practices in the field of green certificates and renewable obligations with a view to building the first wind farm in Lebanon with a capacity of 31 MW financed by the green certificates.

As part of the study visit the delegates met with DETI for a presentation and discussion on the current ROC system and the future mechanism which will soon replace it within the UK, UREGNI and a new state of the art wind farm at Cairn Hill.
